We are pleased to announce the pre-congress workshop “How to analyze and quantify animal behavior with specific  software”, which will be held at the FALAN meeting in Cancun, Mexico, November 3 – 4, 2012. The instructors of this course will be Dr. Dan Blumstein (Professor and Chair of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology,

We will focus on how to use the free software for registering and analyzing behavior, called “JWatcher”, which was developed by Dr. Dan Blumstein and is freely available to download from the internet
(www.jwatcher.ucla.edu).
The student will be required to bring his/her own laptop and purchase a laboratory manual (approximately $30 USD), but the workshop itself will be free of charge. For more information, please contact Dr. Kurt Hoffman (rexvitro@hotmail.com).
